Overhaul and seal work
The listed service scope includes bow-thruster overhaul, repair supervision, shaft-seal bonding and blade-seal replacement. Please distinguish a complete overhaul from a leakage-related repair or supervision of work already being arranged. Each requires a different discussion of labour, parts and interfaces.
- Bow-thruster overhaul and on-site supervision.
- Shaft-seal bonding.
- Bow-thruster blade-seal replacement.
- Coordination of the parts and supporting work needed for the agreed repair scope.
Confirm the maker and exact model
Service materials identify Nakashima, Kawasaki, Hyundai and Wärtsilä LIPS equipment. A common brand does not establish that the internal arrangement, seal configuration or spare-part reference is the same. The nameplate and technical documents are important for an enquiry.
Manufacturer authorisation and general technical service scope need separate confirmation. Documents can be requested for work involving Nakashima authorisation. Other maker names identify equipment for which enquiries are invited; they do not imply blanket authorisation from those manufacturers.
Port, dock and work arrangements
State the intended port, yard or docking dates, access conditions and whether the equipment can be taken out of service. These details support the assessment of scope and attendance rather than a fixed arrival promise across all locations.
If the owner provides seals or other spares, identify the available items and shortages. For a combined supply-and-service enquiry, include part numbers, quantities and delivery location. A clear division between parts supply and physical repair helps define the work package.
Information for an enquiry
Send available photographs, drawings and inspection records to tech@grand-ocean.hk. The final scope depends on the actual equipment condition; possible work listed here does not replace assessment of the individual thruster.
- Maker, model, serial number and nameplate photograph.
- Fault or leakage description, operating symptoms and previous overhauls.
- Seal drawings, part references and available spares.
- Required overhaul or supervision scope, intended port or yard and work window.
