## Built around vessel operations

Headquartered in Hong Kong, the service network includes Shanghai, Qingdao, Zhoushan, Guangzhou and Dalian. Earlier operations also established a Shenzhen office and supply network. Workshops, warehousing and transport support repairs, maintenance, reconditioning, retrofits and supplies.

Working with clients' superintendents means coordinating technical work, parts and progress reporting. Support extends to inspections, dry-dock supervision and procurement, helping the shore office assess equipment condition and plan the required work.

## Support in port, in dry dock and at sea

Riding squads can work in port or sail with a vessel by project arrangement. Published company material describes technicians holding relevant seaman's documents. Assignments cover planned maintenance, troubleshooting, emergency repairs and inspections; mobilisation depends on the vessel, port, personnel and boarding arrangements.

Pre-docking teams can help finalise repair specifications and perform thermography or vibration checks. During the work, they coordinate with the superintendent and yard and report progress and parts requirements. A 24/7 service and consultation channel supports communication; attendance timing is agreed for each assignment.

## Marine, offshore and cruise

Three business teams address different operating environments, supported by technical, procurement and supply coordination.

- Marine: technical services, inspections, damage surveys, consultation and related broking support for owners, managers and charterers.

- Offshore: technical support for offshore drilling and production platforms and China's offshore wind operations.

- Cruise: marine technical services, instrument calibration, water analysis, hotel supplies and technical spare parts.

Published material also describes experience working with yards in mainland China and Hong Kong. Where a job relies on process, product or manufacturer approvals, the applicable documents should be checked against its equipment, materials and scope.

## Building the service network

Published milestones trace the development from a small client base to offices, supply chains, warehouses and specialist workshops.

- Before 2017: early material describes a small independent operation assisting selected clients, preceding the Hong Kong company's establishment.

- 2017: Grand Ocean was registered in Hong Kong and established its head-office operation.

- 2018: Shanghai and Qingdao offices opened, consolidating mainland services.

- 2019: the Shenzhen office opened as service and ship-supply chains developed.

- 2020: warehouses in Hong Kong, Qingdao, Shenzhen and Shanghai entered service.

- 2021: new Shanghai and Qingdao workshops developed laser-cladding and plate heat-exchanger services.

- 2022: additional contracted work accompanied continued service expansion.

- 2023: electrical and automation services expanded; DNV signed the laser-cladding procedure document and LRQA issued the three management-system certifications.

- 2024: Zhoushan operations and the main-engine service base developed, with additional workshop capacity. The earlier record also noted cooperation with Nakashima and SKF.

## Directions for further development

Published plans called for continued laser-cladding research, closer relationships with existing clients, exploration of smart repair equipment with Jimei and Shanghai Maritime universities, and technician training with Hong Kong's Labour Department. These remain stated development directions here; specific partnerships should be described according to projects actually undertaken and announced.
